How Cloaked Email Addresses Work

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Cloaked email addresses let you send and receive emails without sharing your real email address. Each Cloaked Identity can have one Cloaked email address, which acts as a private alias tied to that identity.

Emails sent to a Cloaked address are received by Cloaked, keeping your personal inbox protected while still allowing you to communicate normally.

This article explains how Cloaked email addresses work and how to manage emails across desktop and mobile.

What Cloaked Email Addresses Are

A Cloaked email address is a private email alias associated with a single identity.

Messages sent to that address are handled by Cloaked so your real email address is never exposed to senders.

Each identity can have:

  • One email address

  • One phone number

  • One username

  • One password

You can use Cloaked email addresses for:

  • Account signups and verification

  • Subscriptions and newsletters

  • Customer support accounts

  • One-time or long-term communication

Emails sent from Cloaked always appear as coming from your Cloaked email address, not your personal email.

Why Use Cloaked Email Instead of Burner Emails

Cloaked email addresses help you manage and isolate communication more easily than traditional burner emails.

With Cloaked:

  • All emails across identities appear in one inbox

  • You don’t need to log into multiple email accounts

  • If one email address starts receiving spam, you can change or remove only that identity without affecting others

This makes it easier to contain spam, identify which service leaked your information, and keep the rest of your inboxes clean.

Managing Emails from the Cloaked Dashboard

Accessing Your Email Inbox

From the Cloaked dashboard:

  1. Select Emails under the Inbox section in the left-hand menu.

  2. You’ll see all emails sent to your Cloaked identities in a unified inbox.

To view emails for a single identity:

  2. Select Inbox from the identity panel.

Using Categories to Organize Identities

Categories help group identities so related inboxes are easier to find.

You can:

  • Create custom categories like Work, Shopping, or Travel

  • Assign identities to one or more categories

  • Quickly locate related inboxes and messages

To delete an email from the dashboard:

  • Open the email, click the three-dot menu, and select Delete

You’ll be asked to confirm before the email is removed.
