Call Guard screens and filters incoming calls in real time, while Data Removal works to remove your phone number from data broker and public websites over time.
Data Removal helps reduce how often your number is found, but it does not block calls on its own. If Call Guard is not enabled, calls will continue to reach your phone as usual.
Why some spam calls still get through
Even with Call Guard enabled, you may still receive some spam calls from time to time.
Call Guard screens calls from numbers that are not in your contacts. Calls from saved contacts will always ring through and are not screened.
For unknown callers, Call Guard uses AI to determine whether a call is likely to be spam. However, not every spam call can be identified immediately. Spammers frequently use new, rotating, or spoofed numbers, which can allow some calls to reach you before they are recognized and filtered.
What is normal
It is normal to occasionally receive spam calls, especially from new or unfamiliar numbers. In some cases, a spam call may appear as a verified or legitimate caller before it has been identified as spam.
Call Guard is designed to reduce spam calls, but it will not block every call instantly. In these situations, it is still working as expected.
What to do when spam gets through
If a spam call reaches you, you can block it directly from the app.
Open the Cloaked app
Go to the Guard tab
Tap the call
Select Block this Caller
Blocking a caller prevents that number from reaching you again and helps improve Call Guard’s accuracy over time.
When something may be wrong
If you are receiving a high volume of spam calls, if calls are not being screened, or if your experience has not changed after setup, there may be an issue with your Call Guard configuration.
