Cloaked automatically handles removal requests from over 300 data brokers on your behalf. However, a small number of brokers require additional steps before completing your removal.
Many major data companies, including people search data brokers, make opting out of data sales or listings difficult, by burying opt-out links, requiring account creation, or offering removal processes that don't actually stop the sale of your data. Even when opt-outs exist, they may require you to submit separate requests to companies that hold your information, or submit manual removal requests. For example, if a broker requires account-level access, CAPTCHA completion, or direct confirmation, Cloaked won't be able to complete the removal within our normal data broker removal enrollment process.
The good news: you may be able to use Cloaked Automations to submit removals from these brokers, and we've also put together step-by-step guidance below sharing how to submit manual removals as well.
Cloaked will continue to advocate on your behalf for data brokers to honor takedown requests with minimal friction.
Keep in mind that removal is not always permanent. Some brokers refresh their data over time, so periodic checks may be helpful. It also may help to use Cloaked Identities moving forward when you sign up for services or digital accounts to prevent further leaks of your personal information online.
Using Automations to submit removals
Cloaked has Automations available to submit manual removals from the following brokers:
Spokeo, Radaris, BeenVerified, Centeda, Credit.com, Data Axle, Infotracer, IQVIA, PeopleDataLabs, Rhetorik, RocketReach, Wiza, LexisNexis, Acxiom, Nielsen, ShareThis, 6Sense, OptOutPrescreen.
Click Run this pack under Data Broker Removal, Corporate Surveillance, and some Do Note Sell Packs to get started using Automations to submit removals.
Some Automations may require user input at certain points (for example, if the removal form requires information that isn’t stored in your Data Removal profile) or you need to solve a CAPTCHA manually. In this case, you’ll see an alert notifying you to complete the step.
If your account doesn’t have Automations enabled, you can follow the manual steps below or contact a member of Cloaked Support to help you get set up with Automations.
Cloaked does not control the timeline of data broker removals.
PeopleConnect
PeopleConnect is the parent company of data brokers like Intelius, TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate, and others.
PeopleConnect requires user-verified submissions and does not reliably process automated requests. Instead, you will need to complete the following steps to remove your personal information.
Completing these steps covers your data across all PeopleConnect-owned sites, including TruthFinder, InstantCheckmate, and Intelius. You do not need to submit separate requests for each.
Steps:
Go to the PeopleConnect Suppression Center at suppression.peopleconnect.us/login and enter your email address.
Check your email and click the verification link.
Enter your date of birth. This is locked after submission and cannot be changed, so double-check before continuing.
Provide your full legal name (required).
Optionally add alternative names (recommended to catch all records).
Select your record and complete identity verification.
On the final page, choose "Suppressed" under "Desired Behavior" and save.
